UNIT 1: Intro to Science
Essential Skills for Unit 1:

Understand the sequential order of the scientific method and apply to classroom investigations. |

Identify independent and dependent variables (manipulated and responding) in controlled experimentation. |

Read, interpret, and create scientific tables and graphs. |

The student will be able to demonstrate and use the following scientific tools while implementing the International System of Measurements (Metric System): Beakers, graduated cylinders, flasks, metric balances, metric rulers, meter sticks, Test tubes, safety equipment, alcohol burners, calculators, computers, microscopes, Newton scales, dissecting equipment, and thermometers. |
